Verse 150 — The Body as a Fragile Instrument

« This city is built of bones, covered with flesh and blood; within it reside aging and death, pride and hypocrisy. »

Practice Peacefully

Today, feel the bony framework of your body when you stand or sit. Become aware of this structure that supports you and release any unnecessary tension related to posture or self-image.

Reflection and Explanation

The metaphor of the « city built of bones » illustrates the material architecture in which our conscious experience is embodied. By describing the raw materials of the organism — bones, flesh, blood — the text brings human beings back to their fundamental biological reality. This awareness directly targets two of the greatest mental poisons: pride, which relies on appearance or transient vigor, and hypocrisy, which seeks to mask natural vulnerability with artifice. Understanding that aging and finitude are inherent in the very structure of the flesh frees us from the irrational fear of decline. From a perspective of holistic care and regeneration, this clarity allows us to approach the body with complete sincerity. We no longer seek to deny time or artificially maintain youth by force, but rather to nurture the harmony of the edifice as long as it is entrusted to us. The true place of health lies in the ability to inhabit this city of flesh with simplicity, clarity, and benevolence, without becoming confined within it.
